Russian Language and Literature, Grades 1–11 (Ages 6–16)

We have specialized in teaching the Russian language since 2018. All Bilingvi instructors hold university degrees in Philology or Linguistics and regularly update their qualifications through modern training programs focused on bilingual children and adolescents, while actively engaging with the professional academic community.

Our team works across three specialized tracks:

  1. For students proficient in Russian who have previously followed the standard Russian school curriculum.

  2. For students from bilingual families or those who have lived outside a Russian-speaking environment for a long time; these students speak Russian but have not studied the formal Russian school curriculum.

  3. For children and adolescents with no prior knowledge of the language who wish to learn to speak and read (Russian as a Foreign Language).

Small group sizes allow us to tailor the course to each student’s proficiency level and build a curriculum focused on the specific goals and objectives you bring to our school.

The program is designed to develop speaking skills, confident reading in Russian, and the ability to write accurately.

In our lessons, we develop spelling awareness, introduce the rules of Russian grammar and orthography, and practice coherent speech and linguistic improvisation. Within each 2-hour session, students truly immerse themselves in the Russian language: they don’t just communicate and complete engaging exercises but also study literary works, learn to build arguments, and find joy in speaking Russian!

Key Areas of the Program:

  • Grammar Study: Exploring morphology (word structure) and syntax (sentence structure).
  • Spelling and Punctuation: Mastering the rules of writing.
  • Phonetics and Pronunciation: Learning the sounds and correct pronunciation of the Russian language.
  • Literary Analysis: Understanding major literary genres, analyzing and interpreting literary works, and developing foundational skills for working with texts.
  • Speed-Reading Skills: Techniques to improve reading speed and comprehension.
  • Summarization and Note-Taking: Perfecting the ability to retell stories by identifying keywords and creating concise summaries.
  • Creative Writing: Learning to compose and write original stories, tales, and poems.
  • Public Speaking and Communication: We teach children to manage anxiety, answer confidently in class, formulate and express their thoughts, build arguments, and defend their point of view.
